46  Pop Culture, Categorically / Music / Crue it up on: August 02, 2005, 12:39:12 PM
I did just that on Sat.  Attended the Motley Crue show.  Silvertide, The Exies, Sum 41 opened.

Silvertide was very good.  New school butt rock.  Not alot of folks caught them.  I did.  I rock ass.

Didn't see The Exies.  Beer Garden time.

Sum 41 was OK I guess.  Not a real big fan.  Like The Hell Song and it did sound good live.

Crue was good.  Strippers, Fireworks, Makeup.  Started set with Shout, and then went in to Too Fast for Love and 10 Seconds to Love.  Could have left at that moment and been happy.  Also played Red Hot and Live Wire.  Yummy.  Wasn't expecting to hear so much of the old stuff.

White River Amphitheater was beautiful.  Never been there before, but glad I made the trip.  Hope to get back.

The music topic was so fun that I thought movies might be interesting as well.

My worst entry into this list has got to be Fresh Horses starring Andrew McCarthy and Molly Ringwald.

Nine Months also got to me a bit

I can't think of Chicago w/ out thinking of Peter Cetera in that Karate Kid video.  Video was so bad I couldn't stop watching it.

The Aviator -  A damn fine movie.  Leo can act when he wants to.  Howard Hughes was a pimp.  Too bad about the craziness.  I give it 4.5 8's

Hitch - Watchable.  Predictable.  The more I think about it, it's like a less funny complete rewrite of Boomerang.  The ol plot line of playa learning the power of love.  Falling in love is the worst thing a pimp can do, sheeyit.  I give it 2 8's

Star Wars Episode III -  Besides a few terrible Lucas love scenes, hire someone to write these George because you don't understand interaction between male and female.  The rest of the movie was pretty bad ass. I wish the other two were even close to this one.  I give it 3.75 8's.

Timeline - Movie about traveling to Midievel France or something.  The main star is the guy who Johnny Mox replaces in Varsity Blues.  Paul Walker I believe his name be.  Give me Quantum Leap or Sliders over this any day.  1.75 8's

So the title will actually relate to my life?  That's an interesting direction I hadn't considered.

I believe I heard a rumor was featured on the soundtrack for Orderlies starring the Fat Boys.  And that's one to grow on.

Alone by Heart.  Ha!  That one makes me laugh.  Where have you been hiding your Lovemongers bootlegs?  I'm glad it wasn't the one about her slutting it up and getting knocked up by some stranger.

Good point on the power ballads Josiah Heep.
