Has anyone else heard the album from Black Mountain? Over the last couple of weeks I have heard nothing but good things about them and incredulous reports of them opening for Coldplay at White River. I was at Best Buy tonight to get the new New Pornos, but I wasn't satisfied just giving them $9.99 so I grabbed the Black Mountain CD as well. So far:

Track 1 - Stupid, kinda Polyphonic Spree-ish
Track 2 - Awesome, very Black Sabbath (at least in the drum sound)
Track 3 - Okay

That's as far as I've gotten, but I definitely turned it way up when that second track came on.

Ahhh a brit pop fan.  Wonderful.  I attended the Oasis and Jet show.  Probably my least favorite Oasis performance of the four I have been to.  Actually had more fun watching Jet.

As of today it listens to...

The new Nada Surf and Dandy Warhols albums.

Rock N Roll Soldiers  - The Two EP's  I love this album.

The Go Team.  Album always puts me in a good mood.  Kind've of reminds me of The Avalanches a wee bit.

Bloc Party remixed.  Normally I hate remix albums but this has some good cuts on it.

David Banner's new album.  David Banner is cool.

Paul Anka's Rock Swings - Hally turned me on to this.  His version of Jump is priceless and it just sounds right.

I didn't mind the last album, and I think this new one is pretty good musically. The jury's still out on the lyrics, though.

Sometimes I think  Blizzard of 77 and Blonde on Blonde by Nada Surf are some of the best songs I have ever heard.

A friend of mine sent me this link on My Space.  There supposed to be 75 bands depicted.   I couldn't find them all.  Kinda fun.

Morningwood's album is kind've fun. They are in Seattle on the 24th at
El Corazon.  Apparently singer Chantal Claret "molests"  a fan during take off your clothes. So...if you haven't had a date in awhile this might be the show for you.

Haven't heard the whole album yet, but the new Darkness video "One Way Ticket" is more fantastic stuff from them.
