Why doesn't anybody like to talk about music on the message board anymore?

  Fuck all y'all.

p.s. Hal Tiffany is a Nelly superfan.

Hey Sean, I'll talk about some music with you . . . I just got this record that is filled with sick funk songs, the only problem is that it's from south America.  So, while it sounds great I have no fucking idea what they are saying.

Oh yeah, I got a ticket to the Solesides show (e.g., DJ Shadow, Blackalicious, Lifesavas, Lyrics Born, and who ever else shows up) at the Showbox . . . anyone else around here going to check that show out?  You may even get some local acts there since Vitamine D and some other cats from Seattle did most of the beats for the new Blackalicious album.

Billyboy, what have you heard on the Stuck Under the Needle roster? i've been seeing a lot of those cats performin' and hanging at Chop Suey and they've got way better skills than i would've imagined. this Sleep cat is off day motherfuckin' hook. you gotta check him out. www.stuckundertheneedle.com.

I probably haven't heard enough from stuck under the needle, but I've listened to some Oldominion and Boom Bap Project.  Most of the stuff they put out is top notch (if you get outside of the Top 40 shit that is on the radio in northwest you hear this lable get props for there vocal skills and sick production).  If these cats can out last the "hair metal phase" that is rap these days they are gonna blow up nationally.

How is it at Chop Suey?  I still think if we can find the time with your busy work scheduale I'd like to sit down and talk to you about some ideas I've been batting around in my head.  We must live about 5 minutes from each other.  Give me a call!

I had a record like that. Great funk/disco  but I think the vocals were Venezuelan.    Los Amigos Invisibles.

I have been downloading a lot of stuff lately.

  Songs I like

  David Banner - Cadillacs 0n 22's
  The Roots  - The Seed
Young Black Teenagers - Tap the Bottle  (I always loved this song)

  Cee-Lo's new single is alright.  I don't think I care for NERD's.

Got a remix of Bombs over Baghdad (Rage Against the Machine Mix)  which I love.

ALso got a cool remix of Kylie Minogue.  That's right Kylie Minogue.  It's called Can't Get Blue Monday Out of  My Head.

Also discovered an old garage band called Chocolate Watch Band which sounds good.

But mostly I have been downloading 70's rock I.E. SLade, Thin Lizzy, Grand Funk.

Now If I could just get my hand on a Camaro...

You can't tell me that there are no "White Hot Disco Camero's" around so you can blast Billy Squier eight tracks on the way to bowling night?  What the hell is wrong with this country?

Yeah, that Cee-lo song is okay, and I didn't really like the new NERD track either until I found this electro remix (sounds much better then the real deal).  Other then that I have been digging into my collection and listening to a lot of old stuff.

Oh yeah, earth calling Hal . . . come in Hal, do you read me?

Yeah there are bitichin Camaro's around.  But ones that are runnning have had some serious dough put back in them.

I don't know enough about cars to pay 10,000 plus for  a muscle car that runs.   If I come into some money however...that's all that will be sitting in my lawn.

I'll have to look for that NERD remix.  The original just doesn't do it for me.

If you get one in your lawn, Snizz, definitely get a few of those gnomes, too. Gnomes totally rock.

Billyboy -

Hit me up at the Nada number below and gimme your phone number (s). We gotta get together to talk music and play hoops. Also spades.

Chop Suey is pretty fun to work at. It would be a cool job if they gave me enough hours to pay the bills. Get to see lots of cool shows. My sleeping schedule's all fucked up from working until 3 a.m. though.

I forgot how good Prince aka His Royal Badness is.

I listened to Greatest hit 1 and 2  today and all I wanna do is dance and hump now.

I also have been listening to some Waylon Jennings and George Jones.

Plus I just heard Cinic - Walking With Thee.  Man that song rules my butt but the album sucks it.

After a Saturday with the Nada Overlord himself our search for new music throughout the night left me with several yummies in my head this week

The Plains - At a Party  (It's so simple, it' so fucking great)
Ryan Adams - WHen You're Young  (I had no idea who did this but I knew I loved it from watching Old School so many times.  I guess I could have just read the credits.)
Los Halos - Reason to Smile
Rancid - Bloodclot  "NOw my guns are blazin!"
The Proclaimers - It's Over and DOne With

  an old favorite has returned

Jim Carrol - People Who Died.   How could this subject be so fun.

I guess none of it really is new.  But those are some of my favorite songs this week.

ALso Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Tick rules my butt

do you dig any of those british sea power, clearlake, spits or girls songs i downloaded you?

on the same night in question Snizz, who has a high-speed internet connection and functioning home computer for the first time in his life, burned me 8 mixed CDs. EIGHT. and keep in mind that he picked me up Saturday night at Chop Suey at like 10 p.m. and we left his house by 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

both of his hip-hop mixes are exquisite, one summarizing the better of the recent stuff i don't have time to keep up with, the other highlighting formerly forgotten old skool jams. also among them is a 70s classic rock comp that rocks my ass.

hey snizz - did you like that mix i made for you at your house? it was kinda haphazard (like most of my mixes) cause i had to download everything before i burned it, but listening to it the next day made me think it was the sprawling, adventerous masterpiece version of a Mattrock X000 mix rather than the "what the fuck is this" version. you must let me know which tracks you're digging the mostest. ... other than Zevon's "My Shit's Fucked Up," obviously.

also on there were Hex County, a Mayor West track, British Sea Power, Spits, Girls, that Ryan Adams song you mentioned, and some other cool shit i can't remember right now. even the shit i hadn't heard but put on their as "highly recommended unheard risk songs" were the shizzle.

Zevon song is great.  British Sea Power is good.  I purchased.    I don't really know who is who on the disc.  Lack of track listist has always made less interested.

I certainly enjoyed searching the vast electronic highways w\ you for music though.  Glad you like my mixes..  I do aim to please.
