Today I bought the Secret Machines off iTunes....it doesn't come out until the end of the month.  Is that right?  That's kind of weird, don't you think?  I was browsing iTunes and found this player, which was really good so I bought the whole thing and they're mailing me a bonus CD and also a CD-R so I can burn the album if I want..... it was hella cheap too.

Has anyone else seen this?

This is the player I was talking about:

I've been using  iTunes at work as my player.  It's pretty cool.  They definitely had NERD (She Wants to Move) and WHite Stripes (Black Jack Davey) singles out before the store.

I myself bought a download of Nelly -  Pimp Juice because hanging out with Hal Tiffany has ruined my brain.

iTunes better release the albums early... if they're going to be competitive with the free peer to peers, on which every highly anticipated album turns up a month before official release date, then they must

Good point.  I'm excited about this though, I hope they do the same...do you think this happens at places like www.audiolunchbox.com too?

sorry to digress from the topic of this thread, but i just wanted to take a chance to personally welcome Stolie to the boards. stolie's one of two super cool press gals for Chicago's Bloodshot Records (the other being Lee Gutowski.) they've been super nice to us over the years. Stolie's also a performer with a new album out. check her bad self out at http://www.stolie.com/.

oh, and iTunes better work our arrangements with labels and distributors to be able to sell shit early, otherwise munjumba's right and they will never compete with the free peer to peers.

speaking of which, how's everyone like the new Wilco album that's not out yet?

I don't like it. I never seem to get into Wilco albums until someone tells me why they're good. Is it good? Why?

On Wilco > I think I'm starting to like it, w/o any Wilco fan intervention. I don't like it yet though.

On Itunes > Download it. It is an amazing mp3 program. It does everything I've always wished an mp3 player would do. Great organization, great for sharing music over a network, intricate playlist functions, party shuffle. It's free at www.itunes.com.
