Hello one and all in Nadland, I just wanted to say to all of you that missed the Show last night at the Showbox, ha, ha, ha . . . that shit kicked ass.  While DJ Shadow was more of a back up dj last night the rest of the Qunnam Crew, as they are now called, tore it the fuck up.  LB, Gift of Gab, Lifesavors, and all of the above combination of those individuals sang most of there stuff along with some new material.

However, two things struck me as really strange:

1.) For a minute I thought I was at a fucking Phish concert, the crowd was white as snow and never have I seen so many dredlocked swaying hippies in one spot, nor so many "hipsters" who just chose to stand like boards, talk, and just be seen . . . sucka's it's about the music, not you!

2.)What in the hell took them so long to let people in, I understand that it was 21 and over and you have to check for I.D., but what the fuck . . . a line that takes over an hour to let people in . . . hey Showbox, why don't you work on that.

Billiam -

Thanks for the report from the front-lines. Glad it was a cool show, although with those cats all on one stage its not surprising it was the goods. If you have a minute, scratch out a live review proper and send it my way @ editor@nadamucho.com.

As for the lines, I think its probably a symptom of not opening the doors far enough in advance. Chop Suey has the same problem at their bigger shows - they'll open the doors at 9 p.m. and not everyone will be inside by the time the first band is supposed to start. When I worked the Mason Jennings show their tour manager made us start late so everyone that wanted to get in to see the opener could get inside in time (they sucked ass, incidentally). I just don't understand why clubs don't open doors at LEAST an hour before showtime.
