- at the top the menu bar is there twice, right on top of each other, which seems redundant.
Yeah, what idiot put that there?
Check it again now. The menu is all fixed and tidy now -- check out the dropdown, which is replacing the stupid old "Topic Links" list. Finishing up color changes now.
For reference, here is google's cache of the old site:
http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:R3MNM6GpkV0J:www.nadamucho.com/+&hl=enWhat, exactly, did you like about the old one more? Apart from the obvious things that are still getting fixed on the new one (like survey text, once I can test it).
The left menu bar that no one could read? That's all organized nicely ("Recent Articles") beneath the current 5 articles -- scroll down and check it out. The calendar had to be moved to the right side, which was the only other thing there.
The Topic Link box that displayed every category, regardless of whether there was any content in it or not? That's all organized into dropdown menus under the main headings.
Maybe we ditch the single big headliner and make them all stack two-wide? I'll give that a shot now.
Most of the changes I've been working on so far are internal -- to make sure that when someone searches for, i.e. "Bobby Bare Jr interview" on google, Nada comes up first.
The second thing that I take into account is usability from someone that hasn't been trained on it for two years. Face it--the site was impossible to navigate by someone without prior knowledge of what they were looking for. There wasn't much of a way for someone to just 'poke around' without doing a full-fledged search.
What else?
