so who watched the debate?

this is perhaps the most insulting presidential election in our lifetimes. seems bush really is a submoronic hick puppet whose opponent is such a creepy, wishy-washy fuckstick that he still comes out looking like the better candidate. last night's debate was kind of boring, being that it focused on homeland security and iraq, and we pretty much know where both men stand on the issue. well, we know where bush stands and kerry is starting to make up his mind......... will be far more interesting when they get to issues like the stem cell shit and especially personal freedoms for americans.

i'm sure i'm in the minority here, but if i'm judging last night's debate as a single entity removed from everything else i know about the candidates, i think bush came out ahead, at least on the one issue of homeland security. can't wait until fuckhead bush gets to talk about stem cell research, social issues, and stuff related to him taking away our personal freedoms.

Dude, that is some good crack you are getting down there in Kent! bring me some?

Are we in the same universe, haas?

Look, Kerry blows in a lot of ways, but I thought he smoked Bush right out of his Crawford hole last night.

That shifty little smirk got wiped clean of Dumbya's face last night and it brought a smile to my face every time he stumbled & bumbled.

Do you really think Kerry is shifting positions, or is that just the spin the R's are putting out cuz they ain't got JACK to offer people but failures.

I think it's the sort of thing where either side could claim victory.

the reason libs hate bush is the same reason a lot of people rally around him.

i really think that kerry hasn't ever come up with a solid position on the middle east / terrorist situations and stuck with it. i also think its the most important issue in this year's election. i also thing kerry is a lying asshole fuckhead who probably really did rape tons of vietnamese women and eat their children. he is such a creepy, phony-seeming man that it makes my skin crawl just looking at him.

lilke i said, there really was only one issue at hand in this debate, so its not really super effective in elucidating us on which of these two absolute fuckbags we should vote for, but on the homeland security issue Bush won.

you seriously think that "homeland 'security'" is the most IMPORTANT issue in this election?

wow.

you are a victim of the media.

After several years on the decline, the overall number of transportation fatalities grew from 1992 to 1996, then trended downward through 1998. Since this time, transportation fatalities have been on the rise. While the increases have been small from year-to-year, the trend is headed in the wrong direction. In 1999, there were 41,717 fatalities on our Nation's roadways, up from 41,501 in 1998. In 2000, fatalities amounted to 41,821, a 0.7 percent increase from 1999. For 2001, preliminary estimates report roadway fatalities remained virtually unchanged at 41,730, a slight decrease of 0.2 percent. These fatalities account for more than 95 percent of all transportation deaths.

found here: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/nhtsa/whatis/planning/perf-plans/2003/Index.html

compare that to how many people died during the whole 911 thing, or how many total people were killed in Iraq, both our side, and Iraq. Who cares about terrorists? we kill enough of us ourselves. ON OUR OWN SOIL!!!

or how about:

What’s more, employer-sponsored insurance premiums have jumped 11.2 percent this year, the fourth straight year of double-digit growth, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation, leading some companies to stop offering health benefits to their workers.

Everything I've read from the (damn liberal) media seems to indicate that Kerry kicked the shiz out of Bush. He retook a slight lead in the polls, and even Bush's own media spin team can't hide the fact that Bush's if-I-repeat-it-enough-it's-true style of debate is not going to carry him to victory. He's got two more tries though.

Yes, but two more tries on subjects on which he's much weaker (economy, domestic issues, etc.).  The first debate was his big chance in the area in which he's perceived as strongest.  The 'publicans thought they could put that debate first and throw a knockout blow.  Backfired.

There wasn't a whole lot of different content from the first debate, so really it was a matter of appearances. If you accept that, Kerry looked WAY better out there, and carried himself like a president, something which GW has never done well. Bush looked angry and frightened the whole time, particularly when Kerry was speaking. Kerry, on the other hand, looked cool and collected when Bush spoke, then came out swinging.

There were a couple other miscues by Bush, such as when the moderator wanted to move on, and Bush granted himself executive privelege and forcibly took 30 seconds to reply to Kerry's rebuttal. Also, there were at least two instances where Bush was heading back to his seat after rebuttal, and when the moderator told him the next question was his did a 360 spin (even though there was nothing behind them but a wall) and started looking around audience wildly for the question asker.

wait a second, I thought the score was kerry-2, bush-0?

that's what it SHOULD be anyway.

In phoenix after the debate, the foo fighters are playing for free in Kerry's honor. no fair. not that I am a huge foo fighters fan, but I wouldn't mind checking them out for free.
