I am reading LIES and the LYING LIARS that tell them, by Al Franken.
this is one of the funniest things I have ever read, there is at least one funny thing per page. and when the book is like 300 pages long, that is a damn lot of funny.

drink your own fucker...
Choke ......ummm (i cant help myself) "choked"... I felt it was a cheap crack at an already stale style Chuck just needs to get laid half as much as the characters in his books do and then he might have something to write about, i did like the ending of choke though I'll give him that. As if I am so smart and witty that I can say 'I'll give him that'. He doesn't need shit from me. I just red Last Exit to Brooklyn and damn is that shit fucked up. Incase you didn't know it was written by Hubert Selby, the guy that wrote Requiem For a Dream (the book not the screenplay) you illerate fucks... anyway, Last exit... is way more fucked then requiem could ever try to be. Yeah thats right punk, and they're in competition too!!! don't even act like ya'll dunt know.

I am reading Swagbelly by DJ Levien. A middle aged pornographer has a mid life crisis. Pretty good stuff.

I'm reading Porno by Irvine Welsch. I never read (just watched) Trainspotting, so this is my first attempt with this author. I'm having a hard time because of the "accents" and it's slowing me down, but I think I like the context of the story. It's a little slow, so far.
Has anyone else read it?

Read it and found it delightful. I did however have to read Trainspotting several times to get used to the slang and writing.
If you like books about the seedy underbelly Welsh is your man.

I love seedy underbellies, but it definitely is difficult to read. Since you recommend it, I will keep struggling through. Wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time.

I just read "better than sex" by HST. Pretty funny stuff. It's all early 90's politics, so I was able to sink my teeth into that one. HST's stuff is very time sensitve, it's hard to follow the jokes about politics in the 70's and 80's as I was but a wee lad and don't recall much.

I read Among the Thugs a couple of years back. It's pretty good for a while, but the last quarter kind of drags.

I know, I gave it a good try...but I was too distracted by figuring out what each word meant, and wasn't absorbing the meaning of the sentence. It was taking me way too long.
Whatever.

Just another example of your wannabe italian Oliverism.
Right now I am reading Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman. Brilliant!
