One word.. Soulive. Im sorry but this group is amazing.. I just saw them at House of Blues in Hollywood on Saturday and not only are these guys phenomenal at their respective instruments but they bring an energy to the crowd that reminds me of a Living Legends show or something.. no bullshit, they had the crowd hyped the whole time. theyre a mix of hip hop and jazz and they also dabble in some beat making which are also nice.. PLEASE someone feel me on this one.. check out their website, its got a bunch of their tracks and beats..

if you dont like these guys, you dont like good music..in my opinion anyway.. ahem haha

Bold statement... especially considering that anyone found collaborating with Dave Matthews instantly surrenders all so-called "credibility" at the starting gate. Soulive is guilty of this crime, and quite a few others BUT...

(I like big BUTs and I shall fail to prevaricate in this particular instance...)

...their skills as a live performance group are hard to match. Strip off the polish of overproduction and you're dealing with some tight motherfuckers.

Respect.

I guess i understand what you mean with the dave matthews thing.. but do you really think they are over produced?  I mean, theres really not a ton of promotion around them at all (from what I can see anyway).. I think their website is the most flashy thing about them! lol..

anyway you look at it though, i definitely agree they are INSANE live.. damnit, if only i had stayed till the very end.  We had to leave bout an hour early and in the 1 hour we're gone Stevie Wonder shows up and sings on a couple sets...  damnit!![/i]

you'd be amazed what a lot of over production can do.
