OK Kids -
I'm pleased to make Nada readers the first to know that we've confirmed the line-up for our October showcase at Chop Suey. Its our best ever. Its also on my 30th birthday.
The Glasses - 9 p.m.
The Lights - 10 p.m.
The Turn-Ons - 11:15 p.m.
The Glasses
With the immenent return of bassist Caleb Baker and the adding of permanent drummer K2, the band stands to be even more polished and sexy than they were in June. Look for a new song or two in preview of their album due out next year on NadaMucho.com Records.
The Lights 8O
The Lights recent album, Beautiful Bird, is what I'm currently listening to. Both right now at this moment, and in general. Its 10 songs of dead-cool post-punk. The band was recently featured as lead music story in The Stranger and played a Sonic Boom in-store a couple weeks ago. We're really, really fortunate to have these guys playing for us and hope you all like them as much as we do.
The Turn-Ons
I get the feeling that this is one of those bands you're gonna be able to look at 5 years from now and go "I saw them at Chop Suey." Cause they'll be playing the Paramount. The band played the Croc a few weeks ago under a secret name because Peter Buck wanted Stipe to see them w/o getting mauled. Yeah, they're good. Real good.
Also available at this NadaMucho.com Birthday Bash will be issue #2 of our humble print pub. Tickets on sale next week at Rudy's, Sonic Boom, Chop Suey and at
