Not surprisingly, I almost wept openly during the climactic scene in School of Rock. Its the rock n' roll Disney movie I've been waiting for all my life. Jack Black is phenomenal, the movie is adorable, and the musical references and soundtracking are right on the money. 10/10

Whoever told you that, don't ever hang out with them or speak to them again. Seriously. They have no soul and should be avoided at all costs.

Are we still writing movie reviews for this 'zine?

I wrote a review for Lost In Translation, but it was so self-absorbed and personal that it would have given munjumba and Johnny Yuma clips and clips of ammo to attack me with. I met this incredible woman named Deborah (or Debra) at Plush tonight who told me that the whole point of art is to stimulate some sort of personal response (the way Sofia Coppola got me going with that film.) I'm thinking of posting it now.

After I noticed that munjumba dedicated an entire thread to dissing me, I definitely want to run as many annoying articles as I can write. By all means, line up and take your best shot! Just keep reading my crap, kids...

I shall start going to the theatre more often now that I have a job. One thing that keeps me from going is that stupid "no smoking cigarettes in the theatre" rule they have. Assholes.

You mean you'd actually smoke in the theatre?  You mean that's a new rule?  Dudes... Americans are weirdos.

I'm a smoker. Why *wouldn't* I smoke in the theatre if I were allowed to? No, it's not a "new" rule, but I distinctly remember the days in which you were allowed to smoke in the movie theatre, inside McDonald's and on the airplane, among other places.

Of course, if I were a non-smoker I might be outraged at someone smoking next to me, but since it's MY dirty habit, I'm more inclined to be selfish and smoke wherever it is that I'm allowed.

In fact, in college, I was friends with the people who worked at the local, one screen theatre. They ran midnight movies on every Thursday to see if the reel was put together correctly for the Friday start. They'd invite all their friends (you know, the *cool* kids) to preview the movie for free, and not only were we allowed to smoke cigarettes, any type of "smokable" items were allowed, along with copious amounts of alcohol. Man, that was great.

By the way, that pink lemonade they carry in the theatres goes GREAT with vodka. Mmmmmmmm.......

Saw "School of Rock."   Funny and cute in places.  Nice little movie.    Not missing anything if you don't see it.  Won't regret watching it.

Just looking back through old threads and noticed Snizz is a total idiot and only gave School of Rock a 7/10, when it's clearly a 10/10. Dummy.

It's a pretty good movie.  It definitely is not a 10/10 perfect classic movie.  It has some sweet and funny parts.  To suggest that it is a perfect movie is laughable.

I think most people that have seen it would tend to agree with me.

Any film oriented towards a "family" audience that references Iggy Pop, nomatter how obscure the reference, is to be bronzed, framed and hung over my brick fireplace, but since I don't have a brick fireplace it'll go over my TV.  But the bronzed and framed part will definately happen....
Sometime hit "pause" during the large family tree style chart jack black draws up for the kids in one of their history lessons.  I think this is one of the best follow up movies to "High Fidelity."
