here's another cool thread we could use some new voices on so we can put this feature together.

Nada had a request for a list of the "best" or at least "essential" Britpop albums from a new reader here in Seattle. UK-lovers Joe and Snizz are gonna head up the project, but wanted to throw it out there to the masses for the brainstorm phase. Thoughts on how we define the category, as well as your suggestions, are much appreciated here in this here thread.

"Brit Pop was a term made up by British Music Press around '94 following the movement from Manchester to Happy Valley (Shoegazaer). Brit Pop is considered to be the dead term as Demon Albarn said "Brit Pop is dead.". Here, true Brit Pop is probably Blur only. The next one is perhaps Manchester (Madchester) Sound related to Factory and Guitar Pop?" - Excerpt from http://www.bb.wakwak.com/~buggle/brit.html. an "altrnative britpop website

Elastica is most certainly Brits. Justine was in Suede and was a heroin addict with Brett Anderson for a while.
Britpop should at least be done by Europeans. Off the top of my head...

Suede (debut)
Suede-Sci-Fi Lullabys
Morrissey-Bona Drag
Morrissey-Viva Hate
Morrissey-Vauxhall and I
Moz-Your Arsenal
James-Laid
Richard Ashcroft-Alone With Everbody
Pulp-His 'N Hers
Pulp-This is Hardcore
Badly Drawn Boy-About A Boy
