I was listening to The Clash, and it reminded me that their biggest song "Rock the Casbah" was actually written by Topper Headon, who layed down the bass/drum/piano on the studio version. Interesting that he wrote their best known song, given Mick and Joe were so prolific and influential... the only other intstance of this phenomenon I could think of was The Doors' "Light My Fire", which Robbie Kreiger wrote.
So this is the place to list any big hits from bands that were written by "that one guy who plays..."
