One of my heroes, Mr. Johnny "The Man in Black" Cash died this morning at 3 a.m. from complications from diabetes. He was 71. I know I'm going to miss him.

To add fuel to the fire, Mr. Cash lost the MTV VMA award for Best Male Video to Justin fucking Timberlake a couple of weeks ago.

Sad, sad day in the world of music. For the first time ever at a show, we didn't play a Johnny cover last night. Really pissed off that we didn't. I loved that man. He was so original, so cool, so real. You bet your ass we will break some JC out at Chop Suey next week.

The Passing of The Man in Black - saddens me very much.
Mayor West Covering The Man in Black at Chop Suey - excites me very much.

Ah, the man who inspired my Nada nom de plume (as the French are wont to say). We can call them French again, not freedom,  since G2 realized his cowboy shit wouldn't work on the planet. But I digress...

Bye Johnny, who coincidentally was born on the same exact day as my mother, God bless her 71 year old soul.

Away rode the rebel Johnny Yuma.
