Once mainstays of the Seattle songwriter circuit, Rosie Thomas and Pedro the Lion’s Dave Bazan will make rare solo acoustic performances at the Crocodile this Friday supported by the galactically volcanic movements of Ester Drang.

Scarf knitter and onstage comedic yarnweaver Rosie Thomas have been in short Seattle supply in a year that saw the Michigan native move to L.A. to record If Songs Could be Held, her third Sub Pop release. On it, Thomas’ patented emotive and hushed tones return to themes of longing and hanging onto moments that seem to slip just out of our grasp.

With website promises of a full band to come next spring, Thomas – whose handmade scarves are available on the Sub Pop website - returns to an old haunt after a fall that’s included a two-week European jaunt and a stateside tour with Michael Penn.

Friday will be the fourth in a string of West Coast shows with Thomas and Pedro the Lion frontman Bazan offering fans an opportunity to see songs in their rawest forms, preceded by longtime tourmates Ester Drang, a group of fellas from Tulsa who continue to wave My Bloody Valentine’s flag proudly and deserve to be counted among Mogwai’s contemporaries.
