Fisherman’s Village Music Festival Finalizes Lineup
Everett Festival Celebrates Second Year May 16-17
If recaps and first person accounts of the first annual Fisherman’s Village Music Festival are to be believed, the event looks to be a kick ass rock and roll party, which makes sense: I fondly remember driving from Tacoma to Everett in college because we could get a case of Milwaukee’s best (The Beast) for just $4.99. You see, Everett’s a gritty town 30 miles north of Seattle filled with blue collar folks working along the largest marina on the West Coast and the industries that support it. It’s a great place to drink in bars.
Cheap booze alone does not a successful music festival make, however, so it’s lovely to see that the organizers have assembled a whole bunch of great regional bands we already love, like My Goodness and Fauna Shade and So Pitted and Telekensis and MOTHER EFFING Helio Sequence, as well as bands we’re excited to see for the first time. Summer Cannibals, Sisters, Porter Ray and Genders are just a few examples.

What’s better is that the shows go down in venues like the Cannery and the Historic Everett Theater, all of which are within walking distance, so a party vibe is assured.
“There’s nothing quite like seeing the Downtown Everett streets get taken over by artists and people all for the sake of music,” says festival organizer Ryan Crowther.
