Hail Satan: Fly Your Devil Horns to Help Fight ALS

Posted by July 27th, 2016 1 Comment »

When’s the last time you put your latest hipster-approved colored vinyl aside and put on some good old fashioned butt rock? You know, the kind that makes you want to fly your devil horns and put in a Copenhagen?

As children of the 80s and 90s, buttrock is in our DNA, but get this … There are still bands making that kind of music today. Good ones. And several of them are playing together for a good cause.

This Saturday, July 30th, Rock Out ALS will gather seven such bands for it’s eighth annual Rock Out ALS Fest, which raises money ($20 suggested donation) and awareness for the ALS Association and the ALS Therapy Development Institute. This year the event is being held in the Warehouse District at Vessel Wines and Ales. ROALSF is all-ages with 21+ beer and wine garden.

Performing are Windowpane (you know, like the acid!) who also open Pain In The Grass next month, as well as other local favorites like Mechanism and The Adarna. You can find out more about the event and band bios on the event’s Facebook page.

This is awesome. Having just lost someone to ALS, it’s nice to see that someone is making some noise about it. Horns up!
