Tomorrow my wife and I are going to Bumbershoot, Seattle's yearly music and arts festival. We're taking our two daughters, ages 5 and 7, so it's likely that we'll hit about three of the shows on our dream Monday schedule. The rest of the time we'll be playing in the fountain, watching the Northwest Film Forums short movies for kids, doing art projects in the Center House, and waiting in line for the potty. That's the great thing about Bumbershoot, though. It's the thing that makes it unlike any other music festival I've been too: it really does have something for everyone. As soon as you accept that it's impossible to see everything, it's easy to relax and enjoy anything you see. Because all around you are great bands, authors, comedians and a host of other interesting, carefully-curated exhibits and panels. For those of you with the gumption and wherewithal to put in a full day Monday, here's what I recommend. We'll see you at a couple of these, and be at the rest in spirit.
