Arcade Fire Nominated for Three Grammy Awards 

It was announced last week that influential Canadian indie-rock band Arcade Fire has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, including “Album of the Year” for their release The Suburbs.

Other candidates for the award include Lady Gaga for The Fame Monster, Eminem for Recovery, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, and Lady Antebellum's Need You Now. 

The Suburbs was released on August 2 and debuted at number one on the Billboard charts in four countries, including the U.S. To celebrate the release of the album, the band played two sold out dates at Madison Square Garden. The event was filmed by noted director Terry Gilliam.

Arcade Fire are unique in the music industry in that they are simultaneously critically well received while also successful commercially. Also, they are one of a very few artists nominated for a Grammy award who don't kind of suck.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards air on CBS, February 13 at 8 p.m.
