Earlier this year, Portland indie electronic band STRFKR played an intimate show to a full house at The Showbox in downtown Seattle.
Lead singer Joshua Hodges came out dressed in a sparkly blue dress, pink sunglasses and a blonde wig, a nice change from the cape he adorned the last time I saw him perform.
As per usual, the group’s drummer and lead guitarist swapped instruments, an entertaining dynamic to witness. Confetti, astronauts and pool floaties also made their regular appearances, but this time around, the members of the opening band (Psychic Twin) also rocked some astronaut suits during STRFKR’s performances.
Coolest thing about this show? They said it was the first time they had played at the Showbox at the Market. I found that to be surprising considering they’ve played plenty of shows in the Pacific Northwest over the last decade. Nonetheless, felt honored to see this show and get some photos.
