Seminal Seattle label Sub Pop Records yesterday celebrated the opening of its new retail store at the Sea-Tac airport. The event featured a full on ribbon-cutting ceremony and a performance from Chad VanGaalen, whose fifth album Shrink Dust just came out on Sub Pop this week.
The store seems like a good idea for a label that’s developed such an iconic brand. In addition to walls of vinyl, the store features loads of branded merchandise including music, apparel, books, special travel items, art and more.
Jim Toohey was there to capture the action in photograph.
