Elliot Smith is like the shy kid in your high school who seems like he might be cool, but he never talks, so you can't be sure.

In your imagination he is a suffering genius, who reads philosophy while listening to his collection of obscure singles that no one at school has ever heard. While most of those guys are actually just awkward and not particularly interesting, Smith is even more fascinating than you might suspect.
