14 Bands to Watch in 2014: #2 Crooked Smile
Live music is king. That’s why I’m profiling 14 unsigned Seattle bands to see live in 2014.
Brothers together on stage is always a recipe for an exciting live show and Crooked Smile is no exception, with Michael and Dan Pearson both delivering the excitement, Dan with his enigmatic vocals and an occasional blow into a saxophone and Michael with some of the filthiest baselines ever heard from a Seattle stage.
Self described as “a carnival funk band that lurks in the shadows of jazz and soul” and “a circus of sound that escapes the grasp of absolute definition,” these guys are perfect for fans of Fishbone, Mr. Bungle and other progressive funk bands.
