Premiere: Evictions’ “No Serotonin” Video
By Paul Broderson
Seattle band EVICTIONS started one late night at Linda’s tavern when Graham (Freeway Park) and Lars (Conjure Wives) were talking about the darkest band names possible. . . “. . . if you really want your dark wave to be DARK you don’t talk about the devil, you talk about the housing crisis.” They had the bemused bartender take their picture and then something unheard of happened– the Band Name became a band.
Drawing influences from Depeche Mode, HEALTH, Dead Kennedys and a whole bunch of bands you could probably guess while only sometimes dressing in black, EVICTIONS are the Yacht Goth, Claw Wave, Prost Punk band you didn’t know you wanted, but now cannot live without.
Today we premiere their new video, for the track “No Serotonin,” which was directed by local playwright and filmmaker Ilsa Olsen.
Check out more of the Eviction’s music on their Bandcamp page, where they have a list of housing related organizations. Donate to one of these organizations and send the band a screenshot and they will send you the download code for their music.
