Preview: Champagne Champagne at the Capitol Hill Block Party
None other than Seattle’s own Champagne Champagne kicks off Saturday’s
portion of Capitol Hill Block Party. Enjoy a nice breath of fresh air on
the Main Stage at 2:15 because CC is a fun, eccentric hip-hop experience and a ton of fun.
Champagne Champagne consists of two MC’s: Pearl Dragon and Sir Thomas
Gray (probably not knighted, but I’ll roll with it). Also, for the
Seattle music buffs, the group’s third member is producer DJ Gajamagic,
or Mark Gadjahar – drummer and cofounder of The Blood Brothers. Don’t
fret because he’s not creating anything nearly as wild this time around.
Champagne Champagne is definitely not something you’ll hear on popular radio stations these days, so if that’s not your bag, you’re in luck. Call it a cross between Outkast and Odd Future – with the rhythm of the former and flow of the latter. With catchy rhymes and delicious beats, there is no doubt that within a few minutes this group will have you dancing up and down the blocks of the city’s ultra-hip Capitol Hill neighborhood.
