Premiere: “Futures Come and Go” by Patrick Galactic

Today we’re thrilled to debut “Futures Come and Go,” a stand-alone single recorded and produced by Patrick Galactic in anticipation of his debut solo EP due out on CTPAK Records in early 2016 and shared to celebrate his appearance at #41for2015Fest on Friday, October 16.

Galactic, who most recently performed with Tacoma indie rockers Death By Stars, says the song is a “stream-of-consciousness meditation about…. drugs?”

“I generally improvise the words during the writing process, do a hard edit prior to recording and try not to think too hard about the overall meaning,” he told us. “If I do my job well, the song brings a strong emotional response out of me when I perform and this track certainly does that. So yeah. I think it’s about drugs.”

Galactic has spent the last year performing acoustically after DBS disbanded and says “Futures Come and Go” represents a new direction.

“I always wanted to expand beyond acoustic with my solo stuff,” he says. “People familiar with my previous projects know that I’m a big fan of creepy, ominous textures and this was my first foray back in to that territory.”
