Tim Basaraba – Screening Anita at AMC Pacific Place did not prepare me for the festival hijinks I would encounter at the world premiere of Warm Blood on April 22 during this year’s Seattle International Film Festival. Uptown Cinema and its rickety seats felt appropriate for the independent flair of Rick Charnoski’s first feature length film and all its messy glory.
Aarin Wright – Witnessing the trajectory of an immensely talented local artist is a unique gift for Seattle-area music fans. You might just watch one place in the under-21 Sound Off! competition, record a KEXP in-studio performance, tour across the United States, or sign with a beloved Pacific Northwest record label.
Marcus Shriver – In Seattle, artists are everywhere, and, when we talk about the abundance artistically-inclined local residents in Seattle, we have to talk them as our neighbors, our coworkers. A local musician you admire might email you at work. Your your favorite illustrator could be carefully crafting your espresso drink.
Gary Horn – Teenage Candy is an alternative rock band from Boise that makes music for every emotional, teen-punk, Twitter-pated loser out there. Their songs are filled with angst, classic rock power chords, and shoegaze-like vocals, which somehow turns out to sound like a cross between Angel Olsen and Beach House…. which puts them square in the middle of NadaMucho.com’s wheelhouse.
