In a span of only a few years, CHVRCHES has risen to a cult-like status among their growing fan-base. Their music features strong, rhythmic pop anthems making it no surprise that this UK trio led by their fearless front woman, Lauren Mayberry, has brought them to the upper echelons of pop rock fame.

While the band might be on tour in support of their latest album, Love Is Dead, their show at Seattle’s historic Paramount Theatre was far from the absence of love. This was made no more evident in that the band had partnered with the Melodic Caring Project, a non-profit that provides live streaming and viewing experiences to sick children. Midway through the set, even Mayberry took a moment to personally call out a few names from viewers tuning in across the country.

The show on Sept. 29 featured a blend of new songs and favorites from the band’s previous two albums, The Bones of What You Believe and Every Open Eye. The new material seems to be an even deeper exploration into their synth pop style and features an even stronger emphasis on electro pop rhythms.

Another rare element of the show was the change up between Mayberry and Martin Doherty (back-up vox and synths) on the song “God’s Plan.”Mayberry took the helm on the synths while Doherty stepped in to perform the lead vocals.

The band closed the set with a two song encore that included the band’s hit song “The Mother We Share” and a track off of the new album “Never Say Die”.

CHVRCHES is accompanied with, LA indie rockers, Lo Moon. Catch them on tour while you can! Here are some shots from the Seattle show. See even more in the album on our Flickr page.
