Macefield Music Festival Announces Additional Performers

Posted by September 9th, 2014 No Comments »

If music festivals were a sport, Washington state would be the 1992 US Olympic basketball team, posterizing the nation state by state, dunking on bloated homogenized lineups with newer, leaner festivals like Timber! Music Festival, its wintertime doppelganger Timbrrr! Fest, Summer Meltdown, Doe Bay Fest and now Macefield Music Festival.

In a climate where new festivals tend to draw a reactionary thinkpiece conglomeration of “why do we need more of these things?”, Washington state continues to prove it’s just too damn good at them to stop now. Macefield recently made available one day passes and announced the rest of their 2014 lineup, boasting local talent spanning genre and time, creating an optimal environment in which to discover new acts, rekindle a love for old favorites, and bask in the final pre-autumnal glow of one of Seattle’s great neighborhoods.

Newly added highlights – performers who join an already-impressive roster announced last month that features the Sonics, the Posies and THEESatisfaction – include local MC RA Scion, reunited punk rockers The Cops and the Tom Price Desert Classic, whose members’ resumes include seminal Seattle bands like The Earaches, Gas Huffer, the Monkeywrench and U-Men.
