Mistreaters Cancel Seattle Show; Nada Staff Weep Quietly
By Nada Staff
NadaMucho.com is sad to announce that one of its favorite bands of 2002, Milwaukee’s Mistreaters, have cancelled their current tour including a stop scheduled for Aug. 19 in Seattle after their tour van, equipment and merchandise burned in a fire July 30 outside of Houston.
The band was on tour in support of Playa Hated to the Fullest, their second full-length album and first for Bellingham’s Estrus Records.
NadaMucho.com’s Sybil Rohlf interviewed the band last year in their hometown of Milwaukee. Later in 2002 Editor Matt Ashworth listed the band’s December show at Milwaukee’s Cactus Club as one of the best of the year.
A fund to replace damaged equipment, specifically 60’s Kay electric guitars or Sears Silvertone Solid State amplifiers according to the band’s website, has been set up at a local bank.
