This morning the Capitol Hill Block Party announced a partial lineup for the 2018 version of their yearly music and arts festival, their 22nd.
Keeping with its theme of showcasing a mix of local and national emerging talent alongside often-excellent headliners, returning to the event this year will be Sub Pop Recording Artist and local mini-celeb Father John Misty, the latest project from J. Tillman.
Perhaps not coincidentally, the folks at the aforementioned Sub Pop just shared the latest Father John Misty single, the lovely, self-referential “Mr. Tillman.” We’d highlight more of the acts scheduled to perform at Capitol Hill Block Party 2018 – scheduled for July 20-22 in the Pike/Pine corridor – but we’re too busy imagining ourselves swaying along to it on a sunny evening standing in the street just outside the Comet.
At first blush, we can tell you that we’re excited to see our #41for2016 faves Great Grandpa on the initial list of local performers who have graduated to larger stages, as well as emerging artist Chong the Nomad, who we’ll be talking about a lot this year.
