Monday, March 5
Jon Pontrello @ Sunset Tavern

One of the city’s most dedicated and talented singer/songwriters will be playing in Ballard on Monday night. Start your week off right with a little Jon P, who demonstrates the perfect blend of sincerity and skill.

Tuesday, March 6
Animals In Cars @ The Comet

Not only do Animals in Cars make great rhythmic Indie Rock, they are also a swell bunch of guys. Support them by showing up at the Comet on Tuesday night.

Wednesday, March 7
Open Mic @ The Mix

Jeff Geisinger, sound guy at The Mix in Georgetown, helms an amazing weekly open mic. Backline is provided and Rock Stars seem to show up every week. Sign up at 8 p.m.

Thursday, March 8
The Grizzled Mighty @ The Comet
Critical Sun Recordings SXSW Send Off @ Sunset Tavern

Several of the artists that record with Seattle’s Critical Sun will be performing in and around Austin this month during SXSW. The group is also putting on an unofficial SXSW showcase on Austin’s famed Sixth Street during the festival. This show, which features Furniture Girls, Sightseer, In Cahoots, The Januariez and Rob Marcus.

Elsewhere, the Grizzled Mighty take Durge to Capitol Hill after a short stint on the east-side of the state. Be prepared for some dialed-in awesomeness.

Friday, March 9
Fresh Espresso @ Neumos
Kinski @ The Comet

I do not know much about this Hip-Hop duo Fresh Espresso, other than they have the balls to release a single on a vinyl postcard, and how rad is that? Check out their live show Friday at one of the best sounding venues in town. If loud, distorted guitars are your pleasure, head to the Comet for the amazing Kinski with the Unnatural Helpers.

The Grizzled Mighty (2012)Saturday, March 10
J-Pros @ The Mix

Turntable Hip-Hop, fresh lyrics, EP release party and a guest appearance from Urban Seeds ! If you are anywhere else on Saturday you probably should check(1,2 1,2) your priorities.

Sunday, March 11
The Georgetown Orbits @ The Tractor

Georgetown brings horns and traditional ska to Ballard.
