One benefit of following the local music scene is that rare moment when you’re introduced to an amazing new touring band that wasn’t previously on your radar. Such was the case with the November 19 show at the Sunset in Ballard. I’d marked my calendar for a chance to shoot one of my favorite local bands of 2014, Cloud Person, before they’re huge, and wound up really liking headliners Field Report.
The Milwaukee folk rock band had a great stage presence and a charming, self-deprecating demeanor that helped them create a nice connection with the ample crowd. They were especially great when they came down to the show floor and played in front of the stage for a few songs.
