When it comes to carefully-curated bills featuring bands flying just below the radar, it’s hard to beat Momma’s Cave, the new moniker for former Comet Tavern booker Michelle Smith. Momma’s doing shows at various venues across town including the Lo-Fi Gallery art space.
Last month photographer Jim Toohey captured shots of all four bands on her excellent March 26 bill, including Italian dark-wave act Joycut, Seattle/LA ghetto pop band Dionvox, NadaMucho.com favorites The Spider Ferns, and Circuit Vine, which local weekly arts magazine The Stranger describes as “post-chill cluster-wave.”
