Get Weird Saturday Night @ Look Up Fest
By Patrick Galactic, Contributor
This weekend I have the pleasure of being a part of Look Up Records’s “Look Up Fest: Portals” at the Rendezvous in Seattle. The fest will feature incredible bands, including Shimmertraps, Darks0ft, Sealife, Night Hikes, Ohr, and many more. It takes place this Saturday, March 12 with doors opening at 7 p.m.
Portals will completely take over the Belltown venue with two stages (main stage and Grotto stage, located beneath the main stage area) and will feature an art installation called “Gateway” from Lauren Marie Dake and Kris Staples-Weyrauch.
It will also feature audio soundscapes from Willis Fader and a green screen photo booth, courtesy of my live streaming variety show WEIRD at NIGHT, where attendees can enter a “vortex”, visit different scenes from WAN and even sit on the set I host the show from.
Bill Darksoft, the mind behind Look Up Records and the festival, has proven to be an adept and imaginative provider of entertainment. Previous Look Up Fests have emphasized immersion and escape. Look Up Fest: Portals looks to be their most immersive yet.
