See Me River/Good Luck Number/Hazelwood Motel to Play Our Annual Bday Bash
NadaMucho.com’s Annual Bday Bash
Saturday, October 16 @ The Sunset Tavern
We’re excited to announce the lineup for our annual Birthday Bash at one of our favorite local venues, The Sunset Tavern in Ballard. Our friends at Village Bicycle Productions are helping put it on.
Gracing the stage will be four of our favorite acts: Hazelwood Motel, Good Luck Number, See Me River and a suprise guest.
We’ve been fans of Hazelwood since they sent us a demo way back in 2006. We like their pretty indie-rock so much we included their song, “Break Myself in Two,” on our 2008 compilation Sounds from the Seattle Underground. After a brief hiatus, they’re returning to live action to preview songs from their forthcoming second album.
Speaking of new albums, the Good Luck Number have a great one called Even if it Doesn’t Pay, which is filled with classic American songwriting with a big heart. They cite Credence and the Black Keys as influences, and both elements come through in their great live shows.
See Me River come from the same school of jangly folk rock, but infuse it with some eerie undertones and frontman Kerry Zettel’s unique baritone. Their 2010 album, The One that Got Awake, is one of our favorite releases of the year.
A fourth band we adore will grace the stage that night as well, but you’ll have to stay tuned as the show approaches to find out who it is.
