The Return of TBASA’s Lo-Fi All Stars

Posted by January 6th, 2015 3 Comments »

We are proud to announce the return of TBASA’s Lo-Fi All Stars (#TBLFAS), an intimate weekly concert series hosted by long time NadaMucho.com Contributor Tim Basaraba. 2015’s inaugural edition happens this Wednesday, January 8 at the series’ West Seattle home base, the Benbow Room, and features local performers Sarah Pasillas, Spencer Carlson and Kelly Fleek from The Spider Ferns.

The series started 2009 at the Mars Bar, moved to the Mix (Georgetown) in 2010 amd 2011 and then really picked up steam at the Benbow in the “ship room” (pictured above) in 2012 and 2013. 2015 will be the first year that sees #TBLFAS shows every week.

Says Tim of the series’ long-standing success: “There’s no stage, no big blaring vocals coming through a PA and the shows are completely free. Most importantly, there’s a tremendous sense of community and support for each artist. Plus the guy that closes the night is charming and witty.”

Here’s Tim on this week’s #TBLFAS performers:

Kelly Fleek – “Kelly’s voice is like opium dripped in honey. Sweet but sad, addicting but rad!”

Spencer Carlson – “This kid comes across as awkward and insecure but once he starts his set if you pay attention you will be heartbroken and impressed with his grasp of the human condition. Oh and his album is great!”

Sarah Pasillas – “Sarah has one of the most eerie, thought provoking voices I have ever heard….damn, watch her live once and you will want to have your eyes glued to her when and wherever she plays.”

Each week we’ll post photos from #TBLFAS on our Facebook and Flickr pages, and you can watch videos on Tim’s YouTube channel. Performers interested in participating should email Tim at tbasamusic (at) gmail (dot) com or Tweet @timbasaraba with the hash tag #TBLFAS.
