The Road Most Traveled: Jeff’s Path for Decibel Day 2
By Jeff Wilson
I’ve got two showcases on my agenda for Thursday at Decibel Festival 2014 and both of them are stacked.
Studio 4/4 Decibel Edition ft. Lee Burridge / Anna Lunoe / Ten Walls @ Q Nightclub
Lee Burridge has been doing this since 1985. Anna Lunoe is arguably one of the biggest DJs in house right now. And Ten Walls, while only being around for a year, has already released three critically acclaimed albums and has quickly risen to popularity. So we will be getting some old mixed with some new at what’s sure to be a very well-attended Decibel showcase Thursday night. I’m most excited for Ten Walls and his live A/V production, but this entire bill will be a treat for anyone craving the soul-filling bass and industrial sounds that recall the warehouses of yesteryear.
Rhythm & Bass Showcase ft. TOKiMONSTA / Baths / The Flvr Blue @ Showbox Market
Another great showcase is the one at Showbox Market, which features headliner TOKiMONSTA, who has made quite a splash in the electronic scene over the past two years. Her futuristic take on dance-pop and hip-hop have made her household name among even the most mainstream electronic music fans. Baths once again returns to dB (he last played in 2012) bringing his airy, up-tempo style that will compliment TOKiMONSTA nicely. Kicking things off with their synth-pop sound will be Seattle natives The Flvr Blue, who will definitely get the mood set for the evening.
