Darren Selector – When I bragged to my friend that I bought Beastie Boys’ Check Your Head and The Cure’s Wish on the day they were both released, the kids that overheard us talking turned their heads.

Darren Selector – This is my take: hip-hop started with DJs. People had been rhymin’ long before hip-hop, but when DJs started to repurpose their turntables and vinyl in ways never intended, that’s when the genre was born.
Travis Trautt – Northwest psychedelic garage rockers The Night Beats payed a high energy show at the Nectar Lounge in Fremont on November 12. The band’s liquid light show added to the craziness at the show, which had a great home town vibe.
