I don’t think that there could have been a more beautiful day to kick off the Capitol Hill Block Party weekend. Earlier last week it felt a little too much like the start of fall but by early Friday afternoon the sun was out and droves of summer-clad concert goers were already streaming through the block party gates.
Local music thrives and comes alive at the year Capitol Hill Block Party, with Puget Sound talent mixing it up alongside a carefully-curated group of emerging national acts and a few big name headliners. The recipe leads for some inspired sets by local bands. Over the three days of this year’s festival, which took place July 25-28, one such performance was from local post punk band Constant Lovers, who’s blistering set at Neumos on Friday afternoon was one of our favorites of the weekend.
