An ensemble post-apocalyptic chamber piece with musical elements? A cast featuring a perfect blend of young, dynamic actors and veteran talent? I’m listening.
Tim Basaraba – I’m not sure why I keep going back to Cronenberg films. I haven’t been impressed since Eastern Promises (2007), and I hold no deep nostalgia for his earlier work. However, I am always intrigued by the concepts and ideas he brings to his stories. Just because they seldom sync with my fickle tastes doesn’t mean I should stop trying.
Here’s my short list of 20 films I’m hustline to see at TIFF—though calling it a “shortlist” is a bit of a stretch. And honestly, at 5’7″, I’m not really a “short king” either, just slightly above the metrics (or so I keep telling myself).
