Sam Chapman – Here’s a fun fact about Seattle electro-pop quartet Beat Connection and me: in high school, my best friend’s house was across the street from the house of their now-drummer. We referred to him as “Hot Katz.”
Lindsey Potter – I last ventured to the Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) in 2014. I was so pumped for the music that I forgot the other attraction: people watching. I must admit it’s one of my favorite pass times (less in the creeper status way and more in the introverted only child kind of way).
Dan Lurie – It’s harvest season at Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Oregon, but don’t expect a bountiful yield of corn, wheat or leafy greens. This farm is known for one thing: rock n’ roll. Each summer, an eye-opening lineup of musicians rolls up on the property for Pickathon, a music festival without comparison.
When’s the last time you put your latest hipster-approved colored vinyl aside and put on some good old fashioned butt rock? You know, the kind that makes you want to fly your devil horns and put in a Copenhagen?
