Frida Ray – Last Saturday was my first foray into the delightfully relaxing community celebration that is the Macefield Music Festival. I had no expectations, though I had heard nothing but a flood of compliments about one of our city’s newest music events.
Gemma Alexander – Edith Macefield became a local hero and a symbol of Old Ballard in 2006 when she refused to sell her house to developers. Macefield Music Festival, launched in 2013, honors her memory.
Friday Ray – Saying Goodbye to Kithkin was just as wonderful and difficult as I thought it would be.
By Frida Ray – Saturday, Aug. 8 was one of those nights you go see a show because the band names are so damn good. You’re just hopeful the sounds live up to their monikers.
Cameron Deuel – Alas, I kicked off the last day with the 70s pop obsessed duo, Sisters. If you aren’t familiar, you’d probably like to have them on-deck to play between Bee Gees and “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” at your next function.
