Maurice Harnsberry – Critically-lauded soul singer, poet, activist and arts educator Jamila Woods will be perform at The Crocodile in Seattle the evening of June 26. The Chicago native is a phenomenal singer who’s music is full of soul, the kind that’s truly powerful and moving.
Who the fuck is “Betty Who?” That’s what her shirts say, and a few months ago I wouldn’t have been able to answer. Lucky for me, Betty Who (the stage name for Australian Jessica Anne Newman), was one of the headliners of Kesha’s “Wild and Wonderful Rainbow Cruise” in February (which, btw, was wild and wonderful and full of rainbows and glitter and naked people on a boat and if you weren’t there you definitely missed out).
Maurice Harnsberry – On Sunday, April 28, Gifted Gab is gonna throw an album release show for her new project Cause and Effect and I’m gonna be there with my camera to watch her dazzle in front of a home town crowd. If you’re late to the game, Gab is a Seattle MC whose been on the scene for a long time, steadily getting better and better.
Who’s that MC behind the mask? Well, if you’re at the Crocodile in Seattle on Sunday, April 21 that’s gonna be Brooklyn-bred MC Leikeli47, who’s coming through on support of her critically-acclaimed 2018 album “Acrylic.”
