Camille Nibungco – It’s the year 2020 and Elon Musk dropped his own viral Soundcloud song, symbolically marking the end of the DIY ethos for electronic music. However, Autograf’s show at the Crocodile in Seattle on Feb. 8 changed my perspective and offered a glimmer of hope for the genre.
John Regan – Portland ministers of fun, The Dandy Warhols, brought their 25th anniversary tour and traveling roadshow to a sold out Showbox on Friday, December 6. My wife Naomi and I attended and met friends beforehand.
Caroline Anne – This Halloween, I ventured out to Eastlake’s Lo-Fi Performance Gallery to catch one of my favorite local bands, The Gods Themselves, deliver a flawless, costumed set of their disco-funk.
Julia Olson – This summer I started my first post-grad, good ol’ 9-5 office job. It’s been really good, but I work in South Lake Union instead of on Capitol Hill. Every now and then I get an SLU panic moment; when suddenly I realize that I spend 40 hours a week typing in the shadow of Bezos’s balls.
