Justin Jensen – My fondness for Anders Trentemøller began with his exquisite 2006 Essential Mix of the year. Today that mix stands with Nicolas Jaar’s EM as one of the most perfectly all-encompassing sets I’ve ever heard.

One of the original “shoegaze” bands (so dubbed because they spent so much time looking down at their pedals and other gear) from that genre’s early-90’s heyday, British band Slowdive released three albums and a handful of other recordings before fading from memory, though you can hear their influence – or at least their style – in many of today’s cinematic, effects-heavy critical darlings.
Willa Kiernen – Three years after his well-received Fever Dream album dropped, Alias, co-founder of Anticon, the independent and unique avant-garde hip hop label, released his latest album, Pitch Black Prism.
