by on August 25th, 2018 | No Comments »

Andy Perkovich – It’s no secret that I have a love/hate relationship with the Capitol Hill Block Party, as well as with Capitol Hill itself. Sunday through Thursday it’s one of the greatest neighborhoods in Seattle. Friday and Saturday on the other hand, get far too bro-y for my taste. Now, I’m not here to debate on whether or not that’s a good thing, it’s just not the way I’d choose to enjoy my night.

Todd Terry- I have been to a lot of different music festivals over the years. What I am looking to get out of the experience has definitely changed over time. When I went to Reading and slept in a sheet on the muddy ground for three nights, I thought it was a great adventure. Upstream Music Fest 2018 Day 1 Recap: Long May We Question, Enjoy

Nicholas Anderson – The sun is setting upon Puget Sound and it hits the bricks of Pioneer Square they’re animated by its amber, making them look organic, like they might hold life. Maybe they do. There’s someone asleep and twitching under one of those heavy wool blankets that come in the back of U-Hauls. People are wandering around, staring at their phones and I am one of them. There’s a tent anchored with a cinder block to the sidewalk and a guy not much younger than me is crouched inside of it playing a guitar. I wonder if he has tickets to Upstream. Hell, maybe he’s playing it.
