Andy Bookwalter – Everyone in the universe is batshit crazy for Lizzo and well they should be; she’s exactly what our too-skinny, too-white, too-lacking-in-flute-solos world needs. But is this decrepit old man batshit crazy enough to brave the crowds that descended on Capitol Hill to see her?
Todd Terry – The sun was high in the sky as I headed out to fulfill my citizen journalist duty and cover day one of the 2019 Capitol Hill Bock Party. I knew the journey would not be easy, but armed with earplugs, a spiral bound notebook, and a whole lot of patience, I was confident I would persevere.
Aarin Wright – I selected a velvet scrunchie and rainbow face glitter for the Charly Bliss show on June 22, 2019, and was pleased to be overwhelmingly not alone. The packed Friday house at The Crocodile was sporting all variations of “cool,” from ‘90s hair accessories to clear frame glasses, sparkling highlighters and bold purple lips.
Caroline Anne – On any given night, you can find this hard working 5-piece band performing at either Ballard’s Conor Byrne, the Tractor Tavern or on the other side of town at the famous Little Red Hen.
