Rachel Bennett – The Desert Daze lineup has many of us uncontrollably salivating once again; with headliners like Tame Impala, My Bloody Valentine, Warpaint and King Gizzard, the festival is bound to bring in music lovers from all over the world.
Travis Trautt – I got a chance to check out one of two shows Southern California band the Growlers played at Seattle’s Neptune Theater this month and take some pictures. The group, which is signed to Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records, share’s many similarities with the label owner’s former band the Strokes, adopting a seemingly nonchalant artifice with which to deliver artful, hook-laden modern rock.
Victoria Holt – I first saw Blood Orange at Coachella in 2014 after a random person highly recommended them. I was photographing the festival that year and had been told that they were great performers who’d make for great shots. I loved their moves and fell heavily in love with the music, too.
Maurice Harnsberry – Miguel returns to Seattle on Wednesday as part of his “Ascension Tour” with opener DVSN. It’s been a busy year for the Los Angeles native, with the Ascension Tour coming on the heels of his sold-out Spring tour in early April and a host of high-profile festival appearances over the summer.
Lindsey Potter – Is it possible to do Bumbershoot wrong? The answer is probably “no” and yet it feels like I keep making mistakes. I would like to emphasize that I always have a good time, but I cannot help but shake the thought that I am Bumbershoot-ing incorrectly.
