Todd Terry – My Saturday Bumbershoot recommendations are all about great Seattle team-ups. Knife Knights is a collaboration between Ishmael Butler of Shabazz Palaces and Digable Planets fame, and acclaimed engineer, producer, and composer Erik Blood.
Todd Terry – Tacocat was the first act of the day and their sarcastic / feminist pop punk gems sounded great from the main stage. The Seattle band has always had a somewhat conflicted view of the Emerald City. They love Seattle, despite the threat of natural disaster, but they hate the weekend, because of the huge influx of “tech bros.”
Sean Jewell – The 22nd installment of the Capitol Hill Block Party is underway. As you gear up for the second day of action, here’s some quick festival advice: Hydrate. Eat something. Don’t forget your earplugs. Be patient, be kind.
Friday, June 1 marks the opening day of the 2018 Upstream! Music Fest, a three-day musical gathering that takes place at a series of outdoor stages and indoor venues in and around Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood.
This year, our intrepid Sasquatch one man media node, Grandpa Andy Bookwalter, will be flanked by two other wonderful NadaMucho.com contributors he doesn’t really know when he’s enjoying and describing this year’s festival at the Gorge Amphitheater.
